Short answer
We generally recommend allowing about four to eight weeks from the first consultation to a completed school shortlist. Popular programs, portfolios, accommodation or permit documents require more time and should be planned backward from the earliest deadline.
Detailed answer
From the first consultation to completing the school shortlist, we typically recommend allowing 4–8 weeks. Actual timing depends on how quickly families provide information, school response times, and target school admission schedules.
The process normally includes a needs interview, longlisting and shortlisting, checking admission requirements, comparing costs and support, confirming documents and, where requested, preparing applications. Family response time, transcripts and translations, school enquiries and available places all affect timing.
Four to eight weeks is only a planning guide for school research and comparison, not a completion guarantee. Applications, admission, deposits, accommodation and the study permit need separate timelines.
