What should we do if a K–12 student changes schools, and does the study permit or custodian need to be updated?

A change of school can affect the student's DLI information, accommodation and custodianship arrangements. Confirm the required update with IRCC and the receiving school before the move.

Make sure the new letter of acceptance, address, custodian information, school records and immigration documents are consistent. Do not assume a school transfer has no study-permit consequences.
